Richard has 15 years of consultancy experience gained with a range of organisations, also acting as an internal consultant at Rio Tinto Plc. Most recently he worked at Simon-Kucher & Partners, and since Autumn 2013 he has been consulting independently.
He has worked for and with a broad range of companies from blue chips to SMEs in multiple regions of the world. Though the resources, utilities, energy and industrials sectors have at various times been areas of particular focus in his career, his interests are in understanding and exploiting the drivers of value in all types of business and is comfortable operating in any sector.
His recent functional focus has been on delivering commercial strategy assignments, primarily for business to business companies. This has included projects targeting pricing strategies, contract optimisation, product portfolio management, marketing and operational alignment, future innovation strategy, sales optimisation and incentives design. Equally, he has also delivered operational and cost reduction projects and has worked in business development. He is open to discussing any assignment in which he might conceivably be able to add value.
Richard has an Executive MBA from IE Business School, an undergraduate degree in Economics and French from the University of Sussex and a Licence en Sciences Economiques from Université Pierre Mendès-France, Grenoble.
He loves cricket and football and spends any free time he can in Asturias.
